You will work across the US, Canada, and the UK, with a strong focus on regulatory accuracy, employee support, and process improvement.
The position is well suited to someone who enjoys detailed operational work, takes compliance seriously, and can partner effectively with HR, Finance, and outside vendors to keep people operations running smoothly.
Core responsibilities

- Review, prepare, and authorize weekly and semi-monthly payroll runs while meeting country- and region-specific deadlines.
- Protect payroll accuracy through routine checks, reconciliations, and verification of tax withholding, benefit deductions, and payroll journal entries.
- Apply compliance standards tied to California wage and hour rules, Canadian CPP/EI obligations, and UK PAYE and National Insurance requirements.
- Support statutory year-end reporting and filings such as W-2s, T4s, P60s, and related documentation.
- Administer employee benefit programs across multiple countries, including health, retirement, insurance, and statutory leave entitlements.
- Act as a main contact for employee questions related to payroll and benefits, providing timely and accurate support.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors on onboarding, acquisitions, and systems integration work.
- Create and maintain SOPs for payroll and benefits while helping drive automation and continuous improvement efforts.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in payroll and benefits, including exposure to hourly and non-exempt employee groups.
- Practical knowledge of California payroll compliance, including meal and rest breaks, wage and hour rules, and final pay expectations.
- Background handling Canadian payroll matters such as CPP, EI, and provincial tax systems.
- Experience with UK payroll processes, including PAYE, National Insurance, and HMRC requirements.
- Comfort using HRIS and payroll tools such as Workday, ADP, or comparable systems.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent accuracy, organization, and reconciliation skills.
- Clear communication ability for working with employees across multiple countries and teams.
- Capability to balance priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.
- Willingness to work within evolving processes in a scaling organization.
- Payroll certification such as FPC, CPP, or an equivalent UK credential is an added advantage, and prior payroll experience tied to acquisitions or M&A is also a plus.
Benefits and perks
- Competitive pay package based on experience.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Retirement support, including 401(k) in the US and pension/RRSP support internationally.
- Paid time off and statutory leave programs where applicable.
- Short-term disability coverage and other leave protections depending on location.
- Annual benefits enrollment support and assistance with life events.
- Remote-friendly work setup.
- Opportunity to contribute to a global organization that is scaling quickly.
- Exposure to payroll and benefits operations across multiple countries at scale.
