Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing for multiple companies across various Canadian provinces, adhering to all legislative and data protection standards.
  • Manage employee program administration such as enrolments, modifications, and terminations related to payroll, pension, and benefits platforms.
  • Address inquiries related to payroll, pension, and benefits, providing support to team leaders on system and process utilization.
  • Perform reconciliations, remittances, billing, and audits to maintain compliance across payroll and benefits programs.
  • Work closely with external vendors to facilitate efficient administration of programs and plans.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to manage disability and attendance programs.
  • Assist with People & Culture reporting and analytics including metrics and funding submissions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is mandatory.
  • Relevant diploma or degree in business administration, commerce, accounting, human resources, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Certifications such as CPHR or CEBS are favorable but not required.
  • Experience using Payworks or comparable payroll/HRIS software platforms.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity and comfort dealing with collective agreements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills focused on service delivery.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
