Paving Raker

Position Overview

Burnaby Blacktop Ltd. is looking for a skilled Paving Raker to become part of our paving team. This role involves working closely with paving foremen and equipment operators to ensure proper and safe placement, leveling, and finishing of asphalt to the required grade.

Key Responsibilities

• Rake and lute hot asphalt to achieve accurate grade and depth specifications.
• Assist in asphalt spreading, leveling, and finishing processes.
• Collaborate with paver operators and screedmen during projects.
• Monitor and verify grades, slopes, and elevations as instructed.
• Conduct detailed handwork around edges, curbs, catch basins, and confined areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards at the worksite.
• Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
• Provide assistance with general labor duties whenever necessary.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Prior experience working as a paving raker is essential.
• Physical stamina to endure long hours in demanding outdoor conditions.
• Good understanding of grade measurement and asphalt placement techniques.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively within a team.
• Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
