Role overview

The Patient Scheduler plays a key role in arranging clinical visits for patients and ensuring the right staffing is in place. This includes coordinating with Option Care nursing, subcontracted nurses, and network nursing resources. The role works closely with pharmacy, nursing, and warehouse teams to align visit schedules with staffing availability and patient care needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Arrange appropriate clinical coverage so patient care needs are met.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and maintain scheduling across patient care areas.
  • Reach out to patients and clinicians to confirm visits and deliveries.
  • Review physician orders and schedule services accordingly.
  • Complete required tasks and generate reports in the relevant systems.
  • Match scheduling needs with available staffing resources.
  • Keep management informed about staffing gaps and related requirements.
  • Route patient complaints or service issues to the proper department.
  • Support clerical work when needed if a clerk is unavailable.
  • Protect patient information and company data in line with legal and ethical standards.
  • Take on other duties as assigned by leadership.

Education and experience

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least 1 year of scheduling experience. Candidates should also have at least 1 year of experience in general office administration or another similarly fast-paced environment.

Skills and qualifications

The role calls for strong verbal and written communication skills, basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and experience supporting internal and external customers while maintaining service quality standards. Familiarity with electronic scheduling tools and prior home healthcare exposure are preferred.

Additional details

This role does not include supervisory responsibilities. Travel is not required.

Compensation and benefits

The salary range for this position is based on qualifications, experience, skills, internal pay alignment, and market data. The stated pay range is $19.57 to $32.63.
