Job description
About Flagler Health
Flagler Health is creating the clinical operating system for modern musculoskeletal care. The company works with MSK provider groups and specialty clinics to support growth, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen longitudinal care across patient acquisition, clinical workflows, and ongoing patient engagement. Its platform connects care delivery with clinic operations so providers can create more value across the full patient journey. The company has recently closed a Series B round and is now moving into its next stage of expansion.
Role Overview
Flagler Health is looking for a Patient Navigator to work on-site at a partner pain management clinic in Minnesota. Flagler’s recommendation engine identifies patients who may benefit from advanced therapies, and this role focuses on meeting those patients in the clinic and helping them understand and move ahead with the treatment options recommended by their physician.
You will act as the human connection between the software and the patients it supports, and the process you develop will be used as the model for future partner clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-person patient engagement at the partner clinic during business hours, including greeting patients, meeting with them, and following up with those identified by Flagler’s recommendation tool.
- Explain advanced therapy options in simple, patient-friendly language, respond to questions, address worries, and help patients feel comfortable moving forward with their physician’s recommendation.
- Support patient conversion by arranging consultations, coordinating next steps, and guiding patients through the journey from interest to scheduled care to treatment.
- Work closely with clinic staff by building strong relationships with front-desk teams, medical assistants, and physicians, while identifying suitable patients in real time and fitting into the daily clinic workflow without disruption.
- Share insights back with Flagler by monitoring conversion data, noting common patient objections, and reporting where the recommendation system performs well and where it needs improvement.
- Follow HIPAA rules and maintain professionalism and respect within the clinical setting at all times.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a patient-facing position such as medical assistant, patient navigator, patient access specialist, clinic intake staff, healthcare sales, or a similar role.
- Comfort working throughout the day in a clinical environment and interacting with patients who may be in pain or under stress.
- Ability to explain medical topics clearly without acting as a clinician.
- Self-motivated and dependable, since this position will usually be the only Flagler employee on site.
- Must be based in Texas or open to relocating, and have reliable transportation to reach the clinic.
- HIPAA training is preferred, or must be completed before the start date.
Additional Requirements and Fit
- Warm, patient-centered communication style that helps people trust you quickly.
- Resilient mindset, with the ability to stay steady through rejection, slow days, and other challenges.
- Coachable approach with a willingness to accept feedback and refine your method.
- Curiosity about patient behavior, including why someone hesitated, what the physician communicated, and what support would have helped.
Why Join Flagler Health
- Opportunity to shape a foundational role, with the playbook you build being reused across future partner clinics.
- Direct access to leadership in a small team environment, where clinic feedback can influence the product.
- A mission-driven role supporting advanced pain therapies that can meaningfully improve patients’ lives.
Preferred Background
- Experience in pain management, musculoskeletal care, orthopedics, or a related specialty.
- Previous work as a patient navigator, medical assistant, or patient access representative.
- Bilingual ability, especially in Spanish or another language relevant to the patient population.
- Living within an easy commute of the partner clinic.
Company Values
- Persistence and ownership of outcomes: the team takes on many responsibilities and is willing to push hard to solve difficult problems.
- Personal and professional growth: continuous learning and embracing challenges are encouraged, even when mistakes happen.
- Constructive feedback is welcomed and handled without taking things personally.
- Speed is valued, with a strong preference for moving quickly in a startup environment.
- Accuracy matters, and the team strives to be highly detail-oriented and correct.
Location
This role is based on-site at a partner clinic in Minnesota. The candidate should also be based in Texas or be willing to relocate, with dependable transportation for commuting to the clinic.
Notes
The role is full-time and on-site. No stipend or salary amount was specified in the source material.
