About the Role
Join Mercy Hospital Ada as a Patient Care Associate (PCA) in the Rehabilitation unit. Reporting directly to an RN or LPN, you will assist in delivering personalized care to help patients reach their highest possible wellness. The role requires strong teamwork and cooperative interaction with healthcare professionals to support both clinical and non-clinical patient care tasks.
Position Details
- Location: Mercy Hospital Ada, Ada, Oklahoma
- Employment Type: Full Time, onsite
- Shift: Day shift, three 12-hour shifts weekly from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Providing individualized patient care under RN or LPN supervision
- Collaborating effectively within the healthcare team to meet group objectives
- Performing assigned clinical procedures and supporting non-clinical tasks essential for patient care
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED; or enrollment in a healthcare-related high school program; or current Mercy employee
- Certifications: BLS certification required within 1 month of hire; completion of PCA competencies required within 3 months of hire
- Experience: No prior experience necessary; preferred if experienced as EMT, Paramedic, CNA, Patient Care Tech
- Physical demands include regular ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing and walking during shifts, and ability to bend, squat, kneel, twist, reach, and grip as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic or prior patient care work
- Certifications such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT), or Advanced Unlicensed Assistant applicable by state
