Role Purpose

We are inviting applications for the role of Patient Administrator at our Cork ExpressCare Clinic on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The Patient Administrator is essential in facilitating the seamless and effective management of patient-facing services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Professionally welcome and assist patients in person, over the phone, or via email.
  • Organize, confirm, and oversee patient appointment schedules to maximise clinical resource utilisation.
  • Register new patients and meticulously update existing patient records within the management system.
  • Communicate essential information to patients regarding their appointments, medical procedures, and clinic policies.
  • Maintain and securely organise patient files, ensuring strict confidentiality and adherence to data protection laws.
  • Efficiently process referrals, medical reports, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with clinical personnel to coordinate patient flow and aid in service delivery.
  • Address patient inquiries or complaints, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Utilise relevant software tools for managing patient information and appointment bookings.
  • Ensure accurate completion and proper filing of all documentation.
  • Prepare reports and support audit activities as required by management.
  • Adhere strictly to all policies, procedures, and legal standards.
  • Maintain tidiness and orderliness of reception and administrative areas.
  • Engage in quality improvement projects and contribute insights for service enhancement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum educational requirement of Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
  • Prior work experience in healthcare or customer service settings is desirable.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with patient management platforms such as RIS and PACS.
