Job description
Role overview
PATCert is growing and is seeking a motivated Portable Appliance Testing and electrical technician to support its work across Ireland. This is a full-time, field-based position focused on testing portable appliances, preparing reports, and helping commercial and industrial clients meet electrical safety obligations.
What you will do
- Carry out PAT inspections and testing at commercial and industrial locations throughout Ireland.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports and records of testing work.
- Support clients with compliance related to electrical safety.
- Manage day-to-day site visits and work independently across scheduled assignments.
What the employer is looking for
- Previous experience in PAT testing or another technical role with transferable experience.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- Strong accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
- A professional, client-oriented manner.
- The ability to work independently and plan daily workloads.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification, or a willingness to obtain them.
- City & Guilds Portable Appliance Testing qualification (2377-12), an equivalent certification, or a willingness to obtain this credential.
