About Rock Hill Equip
Rock Hill Community Church is committed to declaring, displaying, and delighting in the gospel not only in the present but through future generations. To support this mission, we offer two career development programs for potential church leaders: the Ministry Internship and the Pastoral Residency.
Program Overview
The Ministry Internship is a part-time, one-year paid opportunity aimed at men and women who want to explore vocational ministry, especially suitable for recent graduates or individuals invested in church community engagement.
The Pastoral Residency is a two-year, full-time paid position designed for qualified men seeking practical church leadership training. This program prepares aspiring pastors for vocational ministry, emphasizing spiritual, emotional, and relational health for sustainable service.
Ideal Candidates
- Men graduating from seminary needing practical experience and leadership development for pastoral roles.
- Men considering pastoral ministry and seeking structured training and education to make an informed decision.
Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities
- Participate as active members of the church staff, attending leadership meetings and engaging in various church ministries.
- Lead specific ministry areas across the church’s three campuses with significant responsibilities, supported by coaching and oversight.
- Engage in Practical Shepherding training comprising scripture, books, articles, podcasts, and videos focused on real ministry preparation.
- Complete the Acts 29 Equip program covering eleven core competencies necessary for church planting and leadership.
- Deliver sermons and teachings in diverse settings such as Sunday services, special events like weddings and funerals, and youth groups, with guidance and feedback.
- Develop counseling skills by supporting individuals, couples, and church members, fostering hope and care within the community.
- Pursue licensing and ordination through the Evangelical Free Church of America to enhance vocational ministry credentials.
