About the Role and Team

The Partnerships Strategic Planning team plays a pivotal role in managing strategic decisions and operations for the global Disney Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio. This group focuses on streamlining communication between content and business units while supporting the implementation of key strategic initiatives. Working closely with service leads, content partners, and operational teams, this role drives analysis and reporting to assist in goal setting and improving workflows domestically and internationally, ultimately contributing to DTC growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Gain deep understanding of Hulu’s content portfolio and operational requirements, supporting audits and preparatory checks to ensure brand alignment and optimal viewer experience.
  • Create and manage financial and analytical models integrating usage, performance, and forecast data to facilitate portfolio and operations planning.
  • Examine financial and operational datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that inform decision-making.
  • Utilize analytics platforms and dashboards to monitor digital content performance and summarize findings for various stakeholders.
  • Compile and analyze data to answer strategic business questions, contributing to recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive internal databases on licensed content, deal specifics, and operations supporting the Licensing Center of Excellence (COE).
  • Execute ad-hoc analyses related to operational reviews, content deals, industry trends, and portfolio reporting.
  • Verify data accuracy and completeness through regular inspections, document identified issues, and coordinate resolution efforts.
  • Act as primary point of contact for data-related inquiries, coordinating across product, content acquisition, and data teams to manage requests effectively.
  • Investigate cutting-edge AI tools and large language models to enhance analytics workflows and accelerate insight generation.
  • Support documentation, archiving, and process integration initiatives to increase transparency and consistency in portfolio management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Content, and Ad Sales teams to meet Hulu’s business needs.
  • Contribute to development and enforcement of operational playbooks and guidelines tailored to Hulu's streaming value chain.
  • Organize regular updates and meetings with Licensing COE, ensuring thorough audit trails and content deal tracking.
  • Prepare compelling presentation materials such as decks and analysis summaries that delineate revenue forecasts, drivers, risks, and potential opportunities.
  • Facilitate communication between content/technical teams and business stakeholders to enable informed, data-driven decisions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience.
  • Proficiency in applying quantitative and financial analyses to solve business challenges and support operational decisions; experience with financial models preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills including root cause analysis, documentation, and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Capacity to understand complex technical platforms and rapidly learn new data gathering and insight delivery methods.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality standards.
  • Strategic thinker able to analyze and interpret market and consumer data effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to distill complex analytical and technical information.
  • High emotional intelligence and collaborative interpersonal skills for diverse team interaction.
  • Self-motivated with a keen sense of urgency and precision in accomplishing tasks.
  • Able to work effectively under fast-paced conditions, managing multiple projects simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency in GSuite and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in streaming media or familiarity with Video on Demand (VOD) and Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) platforms is advantageous.
  • A genuine interest in media, digital, and technology sectors.
  • Experience delivering analysis and presentation materials to senior executives preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position in Santa Monica, California, is $87,100 to $116,800 annually. The exact base salary will be determined by consideration of internal pay equity, candidate location, expertise, skills, and experience. Additionally, the compensation package may include bonuses and long-term incentive units, along with comprehensive medical, financial, and other benefits based on the role level and position.
