About the Association
The Fintech Association of Nigeria (FintechNGR) is a non-profit, non-political, self-regulatory organization based in Nigeria dedicated to nurturing the growth of the Nigerian Fintech industry. Its mission is to unify fintech stakeholders and drive innovation, investment, and collaboration within the ecosystem.
Role Overview
This role focuses on strengthening FintechNGR's leadership in policy-making, ecosystem collaboration, and government relations, thereby ensuring the association's position as a trusted national voice for fintech.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engagement efforts with key regulatory bodies including the Central Bank of Nigeria, Securities and Exchange Commission, National Information Technology Development Agency, Nigerian Communications Commission, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, and National Insurance Commission.
- Organize and coordinate policy roundtables, committees, and working groups relevant to fintech advancement.
- Develop and publish industry whitepapers, policy recommendations, and official position documents.
- Manage nationwide fintech awareness campaigns and conduct outreach across Nigerian states.
- Oversee strategic initiatives such as innovation tours, government-technology dialogues, and forums within the industry.
- Foster robust relationships with government agencies, regulators, and development partners.
- Produce quarterly reports analyzing regulatory impacts and monitor changes to inform member stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Economics, or related disciplines; a master’s degree is advantageous.
- Minimum of five years’ professional experience, including regulatory engagement within fintech, banking, or financial services sectors.
- Strong expertise in public affairs, communications, analysis, and diplomacy.
- Proven leadership in managing advocacy initiatives, events, or policy projects.
- Capability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders such as CEOs and regulatory officials.
