Role Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated team members to join our Long Branch location. Rook Coffee team members are the face of the brand, engaging customers with exceptional service and quality beverages. This role requires individuals who are friendly, approachable, cooperative, proactive, patient, sociable, positive, reliable, and trustworthy.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare exquisite coffee and cold brew drinks following standardized recipes and quality benchmarks.
• Handle and prepare pastries and food items consistently and safely.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace and store environment.
• Ensure adherence to food safety standards and workplace hygiene requirements.
• Foster a welcoming and respectful workplace culture for both customers and colleagues.
• Provide outstanding customer service, building strong bonds by applying the GRINDS service approach.
• Act as the point of contact during the absence of the store manager or manager-in-training, which includes responsibilities such as opening/closing the store, managing cash operations, preparing deposits, supervising daily activities, and resolving customer concerns.

Candidate Requirements

• Commitment to work at Rook Coffee for a minimum period of six months.
• Availability to work on weekends.
• Possess a positive attitude and optimistic outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A genuine and friendly personality is essential.
• At least three months of experience as a barista or similar role in a fast-paced customer service environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical capability to lift or move items weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Capacity to remain calm and organized during busy periods.
• Ability to stand for long durations during shifts.
