Job description

About the Role

Bardel Entertainment is preparing to launch a new preschool animated series on YouTube this October. The team is building the brand’s digital presence from the ground up and is looking for a part-time marketer who can guide early audience growth with a mix of strategy, content creation, and channel optimization. A well-known children’s content creator is contributing music and helping drive initial awareness through their Instagram and TikTok audience.

This position focuses on the early launch stage of the YouTube channel and related social platforms. The goal is to attract parents and educators, build traction before launch, and support ongoing growth across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up a fresh YouTube channel and prepare it for launch, ensuring it is configured for performance and discoverability.
  • Keep the channel aligned with YouTube Kids and “Made for Kids” requirements.
  • Plan the pre-launch publishing schedule and organize the content calendar.
  • Turn full-length preschool episodes into short vertical edits suited for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels.
  • Adjust repurposed content so it fits each platform’s format, pace, and audience expectations.
  • Coordinate timing between influencer posts, stories, and YouTube releases to drive traffic across channels.
  • Create and run launch campaigns, countdown content, and engagement ideas aimed at parents.
  • Write search-friendly titles, descriptions, and tags to improve content discoverability.
  • Guide thumbnail direction or collaborate on thumbnail design to improve click-through and retention.
  • Track channel results, retention, traffic sources, and cross-platform performance.
  • Refine content and distribution choices based on what the analytics show after launch.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in social media or YouTube-related content work.
  • Practical experience building or growing a YouTube channel, either during launch or later growth stages.
  • Experience creating or adapting short-form video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts.
  • Ability to interpret performance metrics such as CTR, watch time, retention, and traffic sources.
  • Basic video editing capability.
  • Prior work in children’s media, preschool content, or parenting-oriented audiences is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with YouTube growth tools such as TubeBuddy or VidIQ is an advantage.
  • Experience handling influencer-led or partnership-based campaigns is preferred.
  • Comfort working directly with clients or stakeholders in a semi-independent environment.

How to Apply

Applicants should share a resume, their expected hourly rate, and a short portfolio or links to social media or YouTube channels they have managed before. Experience in family or children’s content is considered a plus.

Working Hours and Pay

This is a part-time role with expected hours of 15 to 20 per week. The pay rate is CAD 50 to 65 per hour.

The stated salary range reflects the company’s current expectations at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary depending on education, certifications, experience, skills, location, and business needs.

Benefits and Work Environment

The role comes with a flexible work setup, extended health and wellness coverage from day one, and RRSP matching.

The company offers a hybrid environment that supports both remote work and planned in-person collaboration. While remote work is available, this role also requires presence at Bardel’s Vancouver studio during onboarding and during scheduled Rush Weeks.
