Role overview
San Jacinto College is hiring a part-time Employment Coordinator in Pasadena, Texas. This role focuses on reviewing and processing employment-related transactions received from multiple channels, helping handle questions about different employment categories, and making sure applicant and employee records are accurately entered, shared, and maintained in the ERP system. The position also provides backup support across several employment and HR functions.
Core duties
- Prepare and process hiring paperwork such as employment forms, personnel action forms (EPAFs), I-9 documents, and related onboarding records in line with college policies, internal procedures, and applicable laws.
- Draft, update, and publish employment requisitions, then manage the hiring workflow in the applicant tracking system in coordination with hiring leaders.
- Review background-check related employment documents, process EPAFs for different employment categories, extend pay offers, and explain benefits choices and employment contract details.
- Take on special assignments as needed.
- Enter new information and make updates in the ERP database and applicant tracking system whenever required.
- Monitor missing employment paperwork and report gaps, including items tied to internal audit observations and SACSCOC expectations.
- Support campuses and hiring leaders by responding to questions about employment transactions, faculty and professional contract matters, and organizational structure.
- Assist walk-in and phone applicants with general questions, use of the applicant tracking system, and password reset support.
- Respond to incoming calls on the general Human Resources and Cornerstone support lines.

Education and experience
The role requires an associate degree or equivalent coursework. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Applicants should have at least 2 years of professional experience in human resources, customer service, or a related area. Experience of 4 to 6 years is preferred. Prior experience in a college environment and familiarity with ERP systems and/or applicant tracking systems would be an advantage.
