Position Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper skilled in Unanet and experienced with DCAA-compliant accounting practices to join our team long-term. This role offers high flexibility with an estimated 5 to 10 hours monthly, primarily focusing on month-end close and maintaining precise financial records. The position is fully remote but requires applicants to reside in the United States with U.S. citizenship or Green Card status.
Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly closing accounting procedures
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements accurately
- Review and reconcile general ledger entries
- Prepare and post journal entries as necessary
- Validate employee timesheets and labor distributions for correctness
- Provide assistance with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
- Maintain well-organized and audit-ready financial documentation
- Support year-end accounting processes
- Collaborate with company leadership on accounting and financial reporting issues
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years' bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Current experience using the Unanet ERP system
- Background supporting government contractors
- Familiarity with DCAA-compliant accounting standards
- Expertise in month-end close operations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Effective communication skills and capacity to work independently
- High standards of professionalism and integrity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 8(a) or small business government contractors
- Preparing documentation for external CPA firms
- Supporting DCAA or other governmental auditing processes
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines
