Role Overview
An international, award-recognised multidisciplinary design studio in Oxford is hiring a Part 2 Architectural Assistant, Architectural Designer, or Architect. The practice is known for high-quality work across the UK and overseas, with a strong reputation for architectural excellence and multiple industry accolades. The role offers the chance to contribute to a varied pipeline of projects in higher education, cultural, institutional, residential, and research sectors, with particular emphasis on adaptive reuse, heritage conservation, refurbishment, and contemporary design.
Compensation
The salary offered is GBP 28,000 to GBP 45,000, depending on experience.
What You Will Do
Working from the Oxford studio, you will help shape and deliver projects from concept through technical stages, collaborating with a wider design team and external stakeholders.
- Support the design and delivery of adaptive reuse, heritage, refurbishment, and new-build schemes.
- Develop coordinated design information across all RIBA stages.
- Produce architectural drawings, models, presentation material, and technical documents.
- Assist with planning submissions and listed building consent applications.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and local authorities.
- Take part in design critiques and broader studio project discussions.
- Use Archicad to create and coordinate project information.
- Join project coordination sessions and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will bring several years of professional experience, strong design ability, and confidence using Archicad. A genuine interest in conservation-led and contemporary architecture is important, along with the ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
Additional Requirements and Preferences
- Experience with listed buildings, conservation areas, or other sensitive historic settings is an advantage.
- Conservation accreditation such as AABC, RIBA Conservation Register, or an equivalent is welcome but not mandatory.
- Experience in higher education, cultural, institutional, or heritage projects would be beneficial.
