Vancouver Handyman Services is hiring an experienced painter to support a growing stream of residential and light commercial projects in Metro Vancouver. Role Overview
This position involves planning, preparing, and applying interior and exterior finishes in homes and light commercial spaces. The ideal candidate will already have residential painting experience and bring a positive, professional attitude to the job.
Key Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting using methods such as washing, scraping, burning, sanding, sandblasting, and similar techniques when needed.
- Blend and match paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings to meet the required finish, consistency, and drying characteristics.
- Fill cracks and holes with caulk, putty, cement, or plaster.
- Apply coatings with brushes, rollers, spray equipment, or other tools, and hang wall coverings when required.
- Identify the correct materials and estimate the quantities needed for both new and existing jobs.
- Review customer requests, estimate project pricing, resolve issues, and explain the work order clearly to the customer.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s licence and active insurance are required.
- You must provide your own tools and work vehicle, along with strong references.
- Applicants should have background in remodeling or home repair trades.
- Independent contractors must maintain liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage.
- Completion of the screening process, including a background check, is mandatory.
- A smartphone with internet access is required.
