About the Opportunity
Join Sapro-Tech in Auckland for a paid research internship focusing on developing the next generation of sustainable materials. Sapro-Tech is pioneering a plastic-free biopolymer leather alternative aimed at replacing traditional synthetic and animal-derived leathers.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute experiments to enhance novel biopolymer material properties.
- Characterise chemical, mechanical, and physical aspects of newly created materials.
- Apply iterative research methods to refine material formulations and performance.
- Collaborate closely with company founders on groundbreaking sustainable materials technology.
Candidate Profile
- Recent or near completion of BSc Hons, MSc, or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven practical research experience in chemistry or materials development.
- Strong laboratory skills, experimental design capabilities, and proficiency in analyzing results.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work autonomously as well as part of a focused research team.
- Located in Auckland or able to work onsite there.
- Eligible to work in New Zealand with availability to start immediately preferred.
Eligibility
