Position summary
Armour Transportation Systems is hiring an Overage, Shortage & Damage (OS&D) Clerk in Moncton, New Brunswick. This full-time onsite role is focused on tracking, researching, and closing out freight issues such as overages, shortages, and damage. The position plays a key part in keeping freight movement accurate, documented, and on schedule.
The clerk will work closely with dock personnel, drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams to make sure discrepancies are handled quickly and properly. The job also involves keeping records up to date, assisting the claims function when needed, and helping maintain smooth daily operations. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a customer-focused approach are important for success.
Work schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key duties
- Check Armour and interline manifests each day for mismatches and record updates in the system.
- Save daily freight photos in the morning and send them to head office.
- Go through the OS&D report every morning.
- Inspect the OS&D area each morning to confirm the freight information is complete.
- Prioritize and process any dock freight with missing bills so it can move to the customer without delay.
- Request return authorization from the shipper or interline partner for customer-refused freight within the required timeframe.
- Prepare paperwork for returned items and pass it to data entry for processing.
- Make sure return shipments are clearly and correctly labelled.
- Carry out dock checks in both the morning and afternoon.
- Keep the OS&D cage orderly and clean.
- Respond promptly to emails and phone messages.
Required qualifications
The role calls for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy logistics setting. The ideal candidate should communicate clearly, handle multiple priorities, and be able to examine freight discrepancies carefully.
Experience with transportation paperwork such as bills of lading, manifests, and proof of delivery is important. Good customer service skills are needed, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
Computer proficiency is required, especially with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Truck Mate is considered an advantage.
Working conditions
This is a fast-moving environment with frequent communication by email and phone. The role requires teamwork and close coordination with others.
