About the Role
BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee seeks a Pharmacy Specialist to support the Senior Care Outreach and Retention team by assisting members with their pharmacy and healthcare needs. This position emphasizes improving medication adherence and educating members about their prescriptions, benefits, and available resources to enhance their health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
The job involves both inbound and outbound telephone communication to engage members directly, guiding and aiding them with their medications and health plan benefits. Building strong member relationships, addressing inquiries and concerns, and eliminating barriers to medication adherence are critical. Additionally, the role includes documenting member interactions, collaborating internally, and contributing to outreach initiatives that promote quality care and positive health outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a genuine desire to help others. Experience in retail pharmacy or a similar customer service setting is required, alongside knowledge of medical terminology and operational experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and Copilot is preferred. Understanding medications relevant to Medicare's Star Ratings and the influence of medication adherence on outcomes is a plus.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- This is a remote position within a collaborative team environment.
- Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. EST.
- Daily interactions include both inbound and outbound calls with members.
Additional Information
- Candidate must possess Certified Pharmacy Technician certification from PTCB or NHA.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
