Role overview
Maynooth University’s Access Office is looking to appoint an Outreach Officer to join its team in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. Reporting to the Widening Participation Community Engagement Manager, the role will help strengthen and expand the university’s current good practice in widening participation and community engagement.
The post will play a key part in planning, delivering, and reviewing a coordinated MAP Outreach Programme. This will include outreach initiatives, progression pathways, and transition support into higher education, all aimed at improving access, retention, and success for learners who are under-represented in higher education.
What the role involves
The Outreach Officer will help raise awareness of the options and routes into higher education and will offer tailored information and guidance to prospective students and their families, helping them understand and move through third-level systems more confidently.
The role will also support student achievement by contributing to orientation activities, transition supports, and the MAP Student Ambassador Programme. In addition, the post holder will assist in shaping a broader MAP outreach strategy designed to meet access and widening participation goals.
Pay and employment terms
Administrative Officer II (2026) Salary Scale: €47,387 to €67,129 per annum across 9 points.
Appointments will be made in line with public sector pay arrangements.
