Position Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Order Picker to work in our freezer section at the Brockville, Ontario distribution centre. This permanent role involves supporting our stores by accurately and safely selecting and preparing inventory orders for shipment.

Key Duties

• Select orders to supply Giant Tiger stores across Canada.
• Stack boxes of various weights and sizes onto pallets, ensuring secure and stable loads.
• Consistently lift boxes weighing between 1 and 50 pounds while adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
• Operate an electric double pallet truck safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
• Verify and match pallets to their outbound license plate numbers for accurate shipping.
• Confirm the correctness of picked inventory and prepare orders for timely dispatch.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area.
• Assist other departments as directed by supervisors.

Candidate Requirements

• Perform all tasks in compliance with Ontario Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) standards.
• Be physically capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs, and repeatedly lifting heavy items throughout the shift.
• Adapt well to a noisy and rapid-paced work environment.
• Demonstrate punctuality, flexibility, and keen attention to detail.
• Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Comfortable working in cold conditions as low as -18°C for extended periods.
• Successfully complete a mandatory three-day paid machine training program and certify on electric pallet truck operation as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Voice Picking technology or Manhattan Warehouse Management System.
• Familiarity with operating electric double pallet trucks or related machinery.
• Previous warehouse work experience.
• Class G2 or higher driver's license (asset).

Work Schedule

Tuesday to Thursday: 3:00pm to 11:30pm
Friday: 1:00pm to 9:30pm
Saturday: 9:00am to 5:30pm

Compensation and Benefits

The position pays an hourly rate of $20.48, with guaranteed pay increases based on total hours worked. Additional premiums apply for overnight shifts and work in cold storage, increasing hourly earnings.

Permanent, full-time employees receive a company-funded Deferred Profit Sharing Plan with a 6% contribution annually. Health and dental benefits are available after three months of employment, along with paid vacation and personal days.

Employees benefit from a 20% discount on apparel and footwear and 10% on health, beauty, grocery, toys, and housewares at Giant Tiger stores.
