Role overview
This full-time on-site role in Dubai is for an Operator supporting a Gas Control Station within the oil and gas sector. The position focuses on safe, stable, and continuous gas operations across station equipment and related field activities.
What you'll do
- Run and oversee Gas Control Station systems so gas supply remains safe, dependable, and uninterrupted.
- Track gas movement, pressure, volume, and consumption using control platforms and on-field operations.
- Keep gas distribution balanced and make load changes in line with operational needs and demand projections.
- Carry out scheduled operational inspections, gas tests, and preventive upkeep tasks.
- Follow permit-to-work processes and ensure all isolation and safety requirements are met.
- Record daily activity updates, shift logs, and handover notes.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and control room personnel to keep the plant running efficiently.
- Respond to emergencies and take the right operational steps when abnormal situations arise.
- Support projects and contractor work while maintaining HSE compliance and adherence to operating procedures.
- Help strengthen safety practices and contribute to ongoing improvements in operations.
Requirements
- A diploma or associate degree in Process Engineering, Electronics, Control Systems, or another relevant technical field.
- Between 6 and 7 years of hands-on operational experience in oil and gas, petrochemicals, or process industry environments.
- Prior exposure to gas control, gas distribution, processing, or comparable operational facilities.
- Working knowledge of DCS and SCADA systems, along with process monitoring setups.
- Solid understanding of HSE rules, permit-to-work controls, and operational safety practices.
- Ability to assess operational data and react appropriately to shifting process conditions.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Willingness and ability to work in a shift-based schedule.
