Job description

About the Company

Good Culture is an international ingredient business focused on fermented products and their role in modern wellness. The company sources responsibly, develops products with care, and works with respect for both heritage and current customer needs. Its inventory is distributed across warehouses in the UK, EU, and USA, and it partners with a North American manufacturer to supply customers across Europe and the Americas through a complex global network.

The business is expected to grow significantly over the next 12 to 24 months, making operations and supply chain performance central to its next phase.

Role Overview

This is a fixed-term maternity cover position running until the end of August 2027. The role is remote and available only to candidates based in Ireland. It involves ownership of two closely linked areas: leading the Operations and Supply Chain team, and ensuring strong customer service through effective inventory planning, supplier coordination, international logistics, and day-to-day operational control.

The position is autonomous and will require a small amount of travel, including for the handover period and occasional team events. Although the contract is fixed-term, there may be scope for continued opportunity after the assignment for the right candidate.

What Success in the Role Looks Like

  • Customers receive the right products on time and in full.
  • Stock is positioned correctly across the business, with disciplined control of working capital.
  • Potential shortages are anticipated and prevented through forward planning.
  • Risks within the supply chain are spotted early and handled effectively.
  • Strong working relationships are maintained with suppliers and external partners.
  • Operational processes improve as the company expands.
  • The operations function is left stronger at the end of the contract than at the start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the Customer Success Executive, who handles customer orders and deliveries, by providing coaching, direction, and escalation support.
  • Create a culture built on ownership, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
  • Maintain a consistently high customer service standard.
  • Run the day-to-day operations of the global supply chain.
  • Balance service expectations with inventory investment and working capital needs.
  • Identify operational and supply chain risks early and take action to reduce them.
  • Improve processes and systems to support business growth.
  • Oversee inventory across warehouse sites in the UK, EU, and USA.
  • Build replenishment plans using sales forecasts and demand patterns.
  • Coordinate stock purchasing with the manufacturing partner.
  • Lead inventory checks, reconciliations, and stock control activities.
  • Own the relationship with the manufacturing partner on a day-to-day basis.
  • Develop effective relationships with warehouse providers, freight partners, and customs brokers.
  • Manage performance and resolve issues across supply chain partners.
  • Oversee imports from Canada into the UK, EU, and USA.
  • Coordinate freight movement between warehouses, production partners, and customers.
  • Ensure customs paperwork and logistics processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Continuously improve logistics performance and cost effectiveness.
  • Own operational KPIs and report on performance.
  • Strengthen systems, controls, and operational processes.
  • Support the creation and ongoing development of SOPs and operational documentation.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in operations, supply chain, or logistics management.
  • Previous experience in FMCG, food and beverage, ingredients, or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with inventory planning and forecasting.
  • Proven background in international logistics and import management.
  • Experience working with external suppliers and operational partners.
  • Commercially aware with the confidence to make sound decisions.
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently in a fully remote setting.
  • Strong people management skills, including leading, coaching, and holding a team to account.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Experience managing third-party warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with Unleashed or similar ERP/inventory systems.
  • Exposure to North American and European supply chains.
  • Experience in a growing SME environment.
  • Interest in sustainability, health, and continuous improvement.

Values and Working Style

The company values integrity, ethical conduct, compassion, empathy, openness, honesty, and transparency. The right person will be comfortable leading by example, taking pride in doing the right thing, and being supportive while also asking for support when needed.
