Operations Manager - Renewable Natural Gas

About the Role

Piper Maddox is collaborating with a prominent company in the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) sector to recruit an Operations Manager focused on RNG. This individual will lead operations and maintenance activities across RNG facilities and projects, prioritizing safety, regulatory adherence, and optimal plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and maintenance activities ensuring safety, compliance, and achievement of objectives such as uptime, gas quality, and asset efficiency.
• Supervise maintenance tasks, troubleshooting efforts, equipment reliability initiatives, and ongoing operational enhancements to optimize plant output.
• Promote reliability and compliance through the creation and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), preventative maintenance schedules, root cause analyses (RCA), and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Collaborate effectively with engineering, compliance, and project teams to guarantee smooth project delivery and conformity with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Maintain around-the-clock operational readiness by providing support during emergencies and troubleshooting across multiple facilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• 7 to 10 or more years of leadership experience in industrial operations or maintenance.
• Availability for travel up to 70-75% to various plant locations.
• Previous work experience in RNG, biogas, landfill gas, gas processing, or closely related sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, or wastewater management.
• Experience managing operations or field service teams across multiple sites.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems with capabilities in diagnosing operational challenges and enhancing reliability.
