About Petracarbon
Petracarbon specializes in Flange Management and in situ machining services tailored for the downstream oil and gas industry. We are actively recruiting an experienced Operations Manager to spearhead our Oil & Gas Services Division based in Shanghai, China.
Role Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of the division’s growth, sales, operational efficiency, profitability, quality adherence, and resource allocation. This leadership position demands strategic direction across sales, workshop, and field service functions, ensuring achievement of key commercial and operational goals while upholding top-tier safety, quality, and client satisfaction standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and drive growth and performance of the Oil & Gas Services Division in Shanghai.
- Provide visionary leadership supporting management and staff in long-term strategy and annual objectives.
- Track and report business metrics against established targets and KPIs.
- Take accountability for division’s profit & loss including budget planning, forecasting, cost control, and profitability management.
- Fuel business advancement by planning, setting sales targets, analyzing performance, and forecasting market trends.
- Conduct market and industry research to identify trends and expansion opportunities within oil and gas.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with existing clients while pursuing new business.
- Collaborate with technical and operations teams to deliver timely, quality customer service.
- Lead, mentor, and develop sales, workshop, and field service teams to promote excellence.
- Manage resource planning and allocation for manpower, equipment, and tools in workshop and field operations.
- Provide technical leadership supporting on-site projects and customer engagements.
- Oversee maintenance and management of tools, machinery, inventory to ensure operational readiness.
- Liaise with suppliers, partners, and Petracarbon Singapore for equipment rentals, purchases, resource sharing, and support.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, quality standards, safety guidelines, and industry regulations.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Ability to perform effectively within a dynamic, fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Proven experience leading projects, mentoring colleagues, and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrates proactive attitude and positive work ethic.
- Excellent leadership and management capabilities.
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Skilled at coordinating among various teams and partners, adept at balancing competing priorities.
- Preference for candidates bilingual in Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing) for fluent communication with Chinese clients.
- Willingness to reside and work in Shanghai, China.
