Operations and Supply Chain Manager

Overview

LEC is a British trading business active in robotics, artificial intelligence, and beverage distribution. Within its robotics arm, the company supplies, installs, and supports commercial service robots and automation solutions for hospitality, healthcare, retail, corporate, and public-sector clients across the UK and Ireland. Through LEC Beverages, the business serves as the exclusive UK distributor of Tsingtao Beer, handling import, storage, and distribution for wholesalers, retailers, hospitality groups, and national customers throughout the United Kingdom.

The company is expanding and is seeking an organised operations professional who can take ownership, work proactively, and help strengthen day-to-day execution across both businesses.

Role Summary

This position is hands-on rather than purely supervisory. The successful candidate will coordinate operational activity across robotics and beverage distribution, making sure goods move smoothly from supplier to customer and that communication stays clear among manufacturers, logistics partners, customers, and internal teams. The role suits someone who is structured, commercially aware, and comfortable solving issues quickly while improving how the business works.

Key Responsibilities

You will support the full operational flow across both business lines, including purchasing, inbound and outbound shipments, imports, deliveries, stock control, and customer fulfilment. You will also work closely with suppliers in China, logistics companies, warehouses, fulfilment partners, and internal teams to keep projects and deliveries on track.

Additional Responsibilities

• Handle the day-to-day coordination of LEC Robotics and LEC Beverages.
• Oversee purchasing, shipping, import activity, deliveries, and inventory tracking.
• Communicate daily with manufacturers and suppliers based in China.
• Manage relationships with logistics providers, storage facilities, and fulfilment partners.
• Arrange robotics deliveries, installations, and after-sales support.
• Ensure customer orders are completed accurately and within expected timelines.
• Track stock levels and anticipate future inventory needs.
• Identify and implement better operational processes and workflows.
• Keep operational records accurate and maintain clear reporting.
• Coordinate closely with sales, finance, and technical teams to support smooth customer project delivery.
• Resolve operational problems independently, professionally, and efficiently.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and customers.

Requirements

• Prior experience in operations, supply chain, or distribution.
• Background in distribution, importing, logistics, or supply chain environments.
• Strong organisational and project management capability.
• Good commercial understanding and business awareness.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English.
• Confidence in dealing with Chinese suppliers and UK customers.
• Ability to manage several projects at once.
• Proactive mindset and willingness to get involved in day-to-day tasks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work without close supervision.
• Experience using inventory, warehouse, or ERP systems is an advantage.
• Experience in robotics, technology, FMCG, or beverage distribution is highly desirable.
