Role Overview
Join HM Prison and Probation Service at HMP Bullingdon as an Operational Support Grade (OSG), contributing significantly to the daily operations of a busy correctional facility. This role involves a diverse set of responsibilities including security tasks, supervising visitors, conducting searches, monitoring communications, and managing delivery logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security checks and searches at the prison entrance
- Manage incoming and outgoing deliveries efficiently
- Supervise visitors entering and leaving the premises
- Monitor phone calls and oversee CCTV surveillance to maintain security
- Perform physical duties such as lifting, carrying items, and escorting vehicles across prison grounds
Candidate Profile
This position does not require prior formal qualifications but demands excellent communication skills, the ability to remain composed under pressure, sound judgment, and strong teamwork.
Applicants should be comfortable working varied shifts, including nights and weekends, and have good physical fitness to handle active tasks.
Essential Requirements
- Applicants must hold a full, valid UK driving license that includes the D1 category, permitting operation of vehicles with up to 16 passenger seats, a maximum length of 8 meters, and trailers up to 750 kg
- While owning personal transport is helpful due to rural location and limited public transport, it is not mandatory
