Role Overview

Teamshares is hiring an Operational Lead to support businesses across its network. In this role, you will partner with employee-owned companies on turnaround efforts, organizational change, and growth initiatives. Depending on the engagement, you may act in an advisory capacity to a president, or step into hands-on co-management or even full-time interim leadership.

This position requires more than 50% travel.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with network companies to provide strategic guidance, coaching, and execution support.
  • Help design and implement operational improvements that strengthen business performance.
  • Partner with presidents in co-management settings as a trusted collaborator.
  • Step into interim leadership when needed to stabilize teams and build confidence among employee-owners.
  • Take decisive action on urgent operational and business issues.
  • Handle difficult conversations and support businesses facing financial or organizational strain.

  • Moving quickly from assessment to implementation.
  • Balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day operational execution.
  • Building trust with leadership teams and employees through calm, clear communication.
  • Owning challenging business situations with a practical, hands-on mindset.

Who You Are

  • You bring 1 to 5 years of experience from top-tier consulting, or a mix of consulting and small business leadership.
  • You have shown people leadership in prior roles.
  • You communicate clearly, work well with others, and keep ego out of the process.
  • You think like an entrepreneur and enjoy building and improving businesses.
  • You are strong in project management, problem solving, and execution.
  • You understand business fundamentals, including financial performance and strategy.
  • You have a growth mindset and are open to learning from mistakes.
  • You are adaptable, curious, and able to think creatively.
