Role Overview
This position is for a full-time Online English Tutor for grades 6 to 10, based in Patna. The tutor will teach English in a virtual classroom setup, working one-on-one with students and helping them improve grammar, reading comprehension, writing, and spoken English. The role requires creating lesson plans, running engaging live sessions, checking homework, offering helpful feedback, and adjusting teaching methods to match each student’s needs. The tutor will also monitor progress, coordinate with the academic team, maintain communication with students and parents, and ensure high teaching standards while using online learning tools effectively.
Key Duties
The tutor will be responsible for planning and conducting interactive English lessons tailored to individual students. The work includes assessing learning needs, adapting explanations, tracking progress, reviewing assignments, and supporting students in building confidence and performance. Close collaboration with internal academic staff is also part of the role to keep teaching aligned with curriculum expectations and assessments.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have strong experience in teaching and tutoring English, especially for students in grades 6 to 10. They should be comfortable with online teaching platforms and virtual classroom tools, and have a strong command of English grammar. Clear communication with students, parents, and coordinators is essential. A bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related discipline is preferred, and teaching certification or a B.Ed. will be an added advantage. Experience with CBSE, ICSE, or international boards and familiarity with exam-focused instruction will be useful. Candidates should also be able to build structured lesson plans, manage time well, and tailor teaching to different learning styles.
