Job description
Position Details
This role is for an Offshore Scaffolding Inspector based in Abu Dhabi within the INY BU 5A office/department. The position reports to the Team Leader, Project Manager, or ADNOC Offshore, and involves regular coordination with the INY Manager, Site Team Leader, Technical Manager, Deputy Technical Manager, customers/clients, and project management consultants. The role also requires direct communication with the client and, when needed, with other Bureau Veritas teams.
Core Technical Profile
The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical engineering knowledge and practical depth in designing, checking, and overseeing intricate scaffold arrangements for tanks, vessels, pipelines, offshore platforms, and similar assets. Solid command of international safety requirements and HSE practices is essential.
Qualifications and Certifications
A mechanical diploma is required, along with advanced scaffolding credentials and approvals. Relevant certifications include CISRS Advanced Scaffolding Inspection, CISRS Basic Scaffolding Inspection, CISRS Scaffolder Supervisor, TUV SUD Scaffolding Inspector Certification, and ADNOC Offshore Scaffolding Inspector approval. Site safety induction training is also expected. A UAE driving licence is not required.
Location
The assignment is based in the UAE.
Experience
This position calls for a skilled scaffolding professional with more than 10 years of overall experience, including at least 5 years focused on offshore oil and gas and petrochemical work. The background should include ADNOC Offshore approvals and a strong record of planning, managing, and delivering complex scaffold systems across industrial environments. The role also demands excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to prepare technical reports, procedures, and supporting documentation. Experience handling multiple scaffold types for tanks, vessels, and industrial equipment, along with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, project management, cost control, and risk assessment, is important.
Working Style
This is a full-time, onsite position.
