Role Purpose
The Offshore HSE Officer will work within the HSEQ function under the Abser-Offshore business line. The role is focused on assisting the HSE team across assigned projects and ensuring that company, client, and regulatory standards are followed.
Key Duties
- Make sure project and site HSE plans, as well as related procedures, are applied correctly during site operations.
- Escalate any HSE-related issues observed on site to the senior HSE representative.
- Maintain regular communication with site supervision and the workforce on HSE matters.
- Carry out internal HSE inspections, deliver HSE inductions and training sessions, and keep HSE procedures current for specific activities.
- Track the execution of HSE procedures on operational sites, verify alignment with safety risk assessments, and support accurate reporting of HSE performance indicators.
Candidate Profile
The employer is seeking a professional with a Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in HSE Professional Certification or a related field. The ideal background includes 5 years of experience as an HSE Officer in the oil and gas sector or another industry, along with 1 year of offshore experience. Fluency in English is required.
Technical Requirements
- Strong understanding of HSE management systems, incident investigation, Aramco standards, risk management, and emergency response.
- Working knowledge of basic H2S, BOSIET/FOET, NEBOSH IGC/IDIP, BLS and First Aid, plus awareness of international affiliations such as IOSH and IIRSM membership, CSSP/HIP, CSM, and Schedule-D (contract).
- HSE professional certification.
Additional Details
The position offers the chance to work on complex offshore and onshore assignments in Saudi Arabia and abroad. Travel between multiple project locations may be required.
