Position Overview
The Officer of Sourcing, focusing on Indirect Categories (Non-Food) at Melco Resorts & Entertainment in Macao, is responsible for managing strategic sourcing activities within assigned operating supplies and equipment categories. Reporting directly to the Manager of SC Indirect Sourcing (Non-Food), this role involves analyzing market trends, supplier performance, and cost drivers to develop sourcing strategies that balance supply consistency, cost optimization, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research and trend forecasting for assigned commodities.
- Develop and maintain sourcing strategies ensuring reliable, quality supply at competitive prices.
- Create contingency plans for essential products to mitigate supply risks.
- Support new product launches and changes efficiently.
- Adhere to organizational supply chain policies and procedures.
- Manage end-to-end operational sourcing processes including RFQs, supplier qualification, quotation evaluation, and negotiation.
- Communicate suppliers' performance and bidding outcomes effectively to stakeholders.
- Maintain and update item master data accurately and regularly.
- Recognize standardization opportunities within products to drive cost savings through volume purchases.
- Search for innovative products or methods to optimize costs and operations.
- Track and report achieved cost savings and benefits to relevant properties.
- Collaborate with logistics and warehousing for smooth operation supplies distribution.
- Ensure thorough documentation retention for all sourcing processes and communications.
Stakeholder Interaction
Internal interactions include Buyers, Sourcing team, Business Units, Chefs, and F&B leads across hotels such as Nobu, NUWA, and Hyatt. Externally, liaise with vendors and service providers to manage supplier relationships.
Performance Metrics
- Implementation of cost-saving initiatives.
- Timely and accurate product sourcing.
- High levels of attention to detail and consistent deadline compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience with progressive responsibility in supply chain management or strategic sourcing.
- Proven expertise in strategic thinking, negotiation, analytical problem-solving, and coordination.
- Ability to analyze complex data with limited information and make practical decisions.
- Familiarity with sourcing processes, vendor management, and relevant software such as Red Rock.
- Strong forecasting skills specifically in consumer products utilizing Red Rock tools.
- Good understanding of hotel operations and casino business environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency including v-lookups and pivot tables.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently under pressure.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Effective time management abilities.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management is required; an MBA qualification is preferred.
