Position Purpose

Under the guidance of the Manager, the Officer, Broadcasting (Studio Operations) is responsible for supporting broadcast operations during live overseas horse racing events to ensure flawless live transmissions for viewing and betting purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor broadcast equipment and systems such as playout servers, studio hardware including graphics generator, vision mixer, and sound mixer to guarantee uninterrupted live broadcasts.
  • Ensure correct and timely playing of scheduled race feeds, programs, and interstitial content.
  • Quickly identify and resolve any issues with playout or broadcasting systems.
  • Maintain high content quality, operate live broadcasts smoothly, and keep equipment in optimal condition.
  • Archive and transfer broadcast materials adhering strictly to standard operating procedures.
  • Perform live real-time video source switching, apply graphic overlays, and adjust audio levels during transmissions.
  • Assist with graphic overlays and editing during live horse racing and lottery draw broadcasts.
  • Verify all broadcast materials meet set standards and improve viewer experience.
  • Act as the first responder to live broadcast failures and swiftly implement contingency plans.
  • Handle media ingest and content management to ensure seamless playout.
  • Monitor quality of incoming and outgoing signal transmissions.
  • Carry out any other duties related to supporting broadcast operations as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma in Mass Communications, Film, Sound & Video, Film Production, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in live sports transmission, television production, or media operations.
  • Candidates with relevant certifications or substantial professional experience in studio broadcasting will also be considered.
  • Proficiency preferred in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to work.
  • Knowledge of horse racing, sports, or lottery industries is advantageous.
  • Positive demeanor and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays to support 24/7 broadcasting operations.
