Role Overview
As an Office Manager based in Kotu, Gambia, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth daily office operations, supporting staff, managing vendor relationships, and coordinating administrative activities to boost efficiency within our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all general office functions to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Lead and support the office management team through mentoring, training, and delegation to maximize productivity.
- Develop and uphold office administrative procedures and systems.
- Organize both domestic and international travel arrangements, including flights, accommodation, and car rentals.
- Administer the office budget responsibly.
- Keep health and safety policies updated and in compliance.
- Procure office supplies, equipment, and furniture while maintaining adequate stock levels.
- Create contracts, compile office management handbooks, design presentations, and produce management-level reports.
- Liaise with maintenance service providers to ensure a clean, safe, and fully functioning office environment.
- Regularly report office status to senior management and collaborate on improving office procedures and operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in a similar office management role.
- A degree or professional background in Administration or Logistics.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Wolof language.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and administrative capabilities in managing complex office settings.
- Experience negotiating and working effectively with external vendors to optimize costs.
