Role overview
An experienced Observability & Monitoring Engineer is needed to strengthen monitoring capabilities across hybrid enterprise environments. The role focuses on creating and operating observability solutions that bring together metrics, logs, and alerts so critical platforms remain visible, reliable, and performant.
You will work closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams to improve proactive monitoring and support more advanced analytics across on-premises systems and AWS environments.
Key responsibilities
- Deploy and run observability and monitoring solutions across hybrid cloud setups, including both on-premises infrastructure and AWS.
- Create and maintain alerting rules and metrics dashboards for multiple services and environments.
- Develop log analytics workflows and combine data from different sources into usable monitoring insights.
- Build and support advanced custom dashboards with Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Set up long-term log storage, retention, and archiving using S3 and ELK-based tooling.
- Partner with engineering teams to define observability practices and improve performance monitoring standards.
Required background
- Practical experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and ELK.
- Solid understanding of metrics gathering, log processing pipelines, and alerting systems.
- Proven experience supporting monitoring across hybrid environments that mix on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
Preferred skills
- Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, and monitoring for microservices-based systems.
- Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible to automate observability setup.
- Ability to script in Python, Bash, or similar languages for automation and data handling.
