About the company
ANZ Support Services India Pvt. Ltd. is focused on using technology and data to improve the financial wellbeing and long-term sustainability of its customers. With a large engineering community of more than 5,000 people, technology plays a central role across customer tools, apps, services, and future banking platforms.
Role overview
This permanent full-time role is part of Enterprise Service Operations in Bengaluru. As an Observability Engineer, you will help monitor the performance of critical applications and support the ongoing maintenance of the monitoring and observability platform. The position also involves managing the tribe backlog, working with stakeholders to rank priorities, handle dependencies, and shape features into epics. In some situations, you may also lead a chapter of Product Owners.
The role sits within a changing banking environment that offers opportunities to learn, adapt, and grow while contributing to the organisation’s future.
Key responsibilities
- Work with technology teams to improve the organisation’s monitoring maturity and make better use of existing observability capabilities.
- Help design and strengthen modern monitoring systems, observability processes, and related tooling.
- Join sprints and, when needed, lead them to roll out monitoring solutions that give the Command Centre live operational insight.
- Use Dynatrace Grail for analytics, dashboards, anomaly detection, and custom extensions within the observability stack.
- Create and fine-tune Synthetic Journeys, cloud integrations, and Dynatrace APIs to improve automation, telemetry capture, and monitoring reach.
- Use scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell and Terraform to deploy, run, and scale monitoring infrastructure, including ActiveGates on AWS and GCP.
- Manage the tribe backlog by coordinating priorities, dependencies, and feature breakdowns into epics where required.
What you should bring
- At least 8 years of total experience, including 6 or more years in observability, APM, and monitoring technologies, with strong hands-on work in deploying, administering, and tuning Dynatrace.
- Dynatrace certification is considered an advantage.
- Ability to write DQL queries and use them in Notebooks, Dashboards, and Davis Anomaly Detectors.
- Clear understanding of Segments and Boundaries and how they connect to Management Zones and ABAC.
- Capability to create custom extensions from the ground up using YAML or the Grail Custom Extensions Creator app.
- Experience integrating Dynatrace with AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Knowledge of Synthetic Monitors and Synthetic Journeys, including setup and configuration.
- Practical experience using Dynatrace REST APIs for automation and data flows.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows, Solaris, and Linux (RHEL) systems.
- Background in infrastructure, application development, or support, with preference for Java, .NET, or Python exposure.
- Experience with containers, microservices, and modern distributed application architectures.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, and CI/CD pipelines in cloud and DevOps environments.
- Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell, PowerShell Universal, or similar tools.
- Experience deploying Dynatrace ActiveGates to AWS and GCP using Terraform.
- Ability to build automation workflows similar to Monacostyle deployments in Terraform.
- Graduation is not mandatory for applicants.
