Mountain Warehouse is seeking an energetic retail leader in Albany, Auckland who can motivate a team, strengthen customer service, and keep store operations running smoothly. This role suits someone who enjoys a busy retail setting and takes pride in driving sales, maintaining high visual standards, and creating a positive shopping atmosphere.

Pay: $25.00 to $26.00 per hour
Leadership and team development
You will help build a supportive team culture, keep colleagues aligned with common goals, and coach people so they continue to improve. Clear communication will be important, along with making sure the team has the product knowledge needed to serve customers well.
Store operations and standards
The position involves maintaining strong shop floor standards every day, including stock presentation, ticketing, and overall organisation. You will also support opening and closing procedures, keep the store visually appealing, and help ensure health and safety standards are consistently followed.
Sales and performance
A key part of the job is encouraging the team to hit and outperform sales goals and KPIs. You will also look for ways to develop team capability and support ongoing growth.
Customer experience and brand representation
You will set the tone for excellent service, handle customer issues quickly and professionally, and help deliver a memorable in-store experience. The role also includes representing the Mountain Warehouse brand positively and building a friendly connection with the local community.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate is passionate about customer service, dependable, and confident in motivating others. Experience across retail operations is important, including stock management and visual merchandising. Strong communication, a proactive mindset, and the ability to solve problems within company policies are also essential.
Compensation and benefits
The role includes a monthly bonus plan linked to performance, a 50% colleague discount across Mountain Warehouse and Animal, and a twice-yearly uniform allowance. Team members are eligible for up to 20 days of annual leave each year based on a 5-day working week.
