Role overview

In this position, you will play a central part in growing Splunk’s presence within the New Zealand government sector. The role covers both winning new business and expanding relationships with existing accounts. By leveraging the combined Splunk and Cisco portfolio, you will help customers address complex needs across security, observability, and data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and develop a portfolio of New Zealand government accounts, with responsibility for both new opportunities and account expansion.
  • Deliver consistent quarterly and annual revenue results across licenses, support, and services.
  • Act as a reliable advisor to customer stakeholders on programs such as network modernization, 5G rollout, cloud migration, service assurance, and operational resilience.
  • Work closely with Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Partner teams, and Cisco stakeholders to increase account reach and create lasting customer value.
  • Lead commercial discussions, pricing conversations, and value-focused negotiations with stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Keep forecasts and pipeline updates accurate in Salesforce while coordinating with Sales Operations and management.
  • Maintain strong pipeline discipline and reporting quality through effective use of Salesforce and related internal tools.

Requirements

  • Substantial B2B software sales experience in New Zealand, including a proven record of managing and growing government accounts across the full sales cycle.
  • Well-established relationships with senior leaders and executives in New Zealand government.
  • Strong forecasting discipline and solid hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM.
  • Confidence in engaging and influencing senior government decision-makers.
  • Background selling solutions in security, cloud, observability, analytics, or infrastructure management.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills in complex enterprise settings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical, partner, and professional services teams.
  • Good time management, prioritization, and organizational ability.
