Splunk is expanding rapidly in the Australia and New Zealand region. This growth has led to creating the Commercial Account Executive role within our Wellington team, tasked with accelerating this momentum. Our salesforce is a high-achieving, customer-focused group that engages closely with top enterprise customers. We cooperate across Sales, Engineering, Partners, and Customer Success departments to support clients in driving their digital and cloud transformation projects.

Your Role and Impact

As an Account Executive at Splunk, you will play a crucial role in driving the company’s expansion within the New Zealand government sector. Your responsibilities will include acquiring new clients and enhancing existing relationships. Leveraging the combined strengths of Splunk and Cisco, you will assist customers in overcoming intricate challenges related to security, observability, and data analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand a portfolio of government accounts in New Zealand, focusing on new sales prospects and growth of existing business.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and yearly revenue goals related to licenses, support, and service offerings within your managed accounts.
  • Establish yourself as a reliable consultant to customer stakeholders on projects such as network modernization, 5G implementation, cloud migration, service assurance, and operational resilience.
  • Work in close conjunction with Splunk Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Partners, and Cisco teams to deepen penetration in assigned accounts and deliver ongoing value.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and value-based sales engagements across multiple customer levels.
  • Keep forecast data and pipeline records accurate and up to date in Salesforce, collaborating with Sales Operations and leadership.
  • Maintain excellent pipeline hygiene and reporting precision through effective utilization of CRM and internal resources.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven extensive experience in B2B software sales within New Zealand, particularly with managing and developing government clients across complete sales cycles.
  • Established senior and executive contacts within New Zealand government entities.
  • Demonstrated discipline in sales forecasting and advanced use of Salesforce CRM.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable engaging and influencing senior-level Government stakeholders.
  • Background in sales related to security, cloud technology, observability, data analytics, or infrastructure management.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to build strong relationships in complex corporate settings.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, partners, and professional services.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
