About Meta Care and Role Overview
Meta Care Inc., a national healthcare provider, is seeking a full-time Nutrition Coach based in Tampa, FL. This role involves a hybrid work setting with a blend of remote coaching and on-site activities, including conducting in-person cooking classes for members. The Nutrition Coach will guide clients toward healthier lifestyles by fostering better nutritional habits and positive mindset changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and address the nutritional requirements of members.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of nutrition related to diseases such as diabetes and obesity.
- Incorporate cultural awareness and promote healthy lifestyle modifications.
- Work collaboratively with varied healthcare disciplines to ensure consistent care delivery.
- Provide ongoing education and coaching to members between visits to enhance compliance.
- Offer telephonic counseling for both individual clients and groups.
- Lead hands-on cooking workshops and culinary demonstrations onsite enabling practical application of nutrition advice.
- Design and execute group programs targeting high-risk patient populations.
- Utilize technology to conduct online group sessions effectively.
- Collect and analyze data on target populations to assess program efficacy and outcomes.
- Engage in Quality Improvement (QI) activities.
- Assist members as required throughout their wellness journey.
- Manage assigned caseload ensuring continuous member engagement and progress.
- Develop customized care plans catered to individual member needs.
- Meet daily target of seeing at least eight members.
- Demonstrate strong adaptability to digital platforms; must type at a minimum speed of 80 words per minute.
- Participate in on-site meetings, conferences, and cooking classes when scheduled; occasional travel needed.
- Prepare quarterly business reviews summarizing past quarter's work, current status, and future plans.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience as a nutritionist is mandatory.
- Skilled in developing and implementing individualized care strategies.
- Strong organizational skills with capacity to maintain member follow-up diligently.
- Comfortable using various technology platforms with proficient typing ability.
- Excellent communication abilities and capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Experienced in leading group sessions, including onsite cooking activities and remote coaching.
- Preferably holds ADCES or BC-ADM Certification from the American Diabetes Association.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay ranging from $25 to $30.
- 15 days of paid time off accrued annually; PTO requests are not approved before 90 days of employment, subject to state laws.
- Sick leave accrues immediately with a cap of 48 hours earned per year; unused sick leave can carry over up to 80 hours.
- Seven paid holidays annually: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
- Medical insurance where the company covers 90% of single-plan premium if opted in; dental and vision insurance available at full employee cost.
