Job description

About Munich Electrification

Munich Electrification is dedicated to speeding up the shift to electric and connected mobility by developing cutting-edge electronic control units for electric vehicles and stationary storage worldwide. Located in central Munich at Heimeranplatz, our compact, expert engineering team values each member's contribution and promotes personalized growth and support.

Core Values

  • Technological Leadership: Constant innovation, smart risk-taking, and future-focused solutions.
  • Sustainability: Commitment to sustainable development and inspiring positive impact.
  • Team Culture: Encouraging enjoyable, collaborative, and celebratory work environments.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Embracing change, thinking ambitiously, and pursuing excellence.

Role Overview

We are evolving from legacy data management to a robust enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. As Lead NPI & PLM Implementation Engineer, you will drive the entire process of PLM selection, rollout, and team adoption. You'll analyze current New Product Introduction (NPI) workflows, design improvements, and manage both cultural and technical transformations toward integrated digital processes. Post-PLM deployment, you will optimize products for manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and supply chain sustainability, including managing product configurations, ensuring database accuracy, and coordinating implementation with production partners and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as primary PLM tool user: gather feature requirements, optimize processes, and maintain system alignment with team needs.
  • Manage product definition: oversee BOMs, hierarchies, and configuration files within the PLM.
  • Control product configuration changes across components, products, and processes, including temporary and permanent adjustments.
  • Define components and secondary sources collaboratively with hardware development.
  • Manage technical supplier interactions to supervise manufacturing processes from prototype stages to high-volume production.
  • Develop and oversee the industrialization timeline and action plans for projects/products.
  • Work closely with hardware teams to apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles aimed at cost reduction and production quality.
  • Ensure product maturity and readiness for successful transition into series production.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in PLM and Configuration Management involving multidisciplinary products and processes.
  • Proficiency with Windchill PLM and PDM software platforms.
  • Preferred experience with electro-mechanical product manufacturing and DFM methodologies.
  • Understanding of production technologies, processes, and testing methods.
  • Experience managing suppliers and influencing company-wide process adoption.
  • Strong skills in cross-team communication of technical concepts.
  • Degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related IT/technical discipline.

Benefits & Work Environment

Join a dynamic and innovative team serving prominent clients in automotive and battery storage sectors. Enhance your expertise in electric vehicle battery management and electronics within a stimulating workplace.

  • Flexible working hours based on trust, plus hybrid work options.
  • Competitive salary package with pension contributions and performance bonuses.
  • Access to on-site fitness facilities and subsidized wellness programs.
  • Complimentary meals, snacks, coffee, and beverages daily.
  • Public transport support and bike leasing programs.
  • Engaging team-building events and branded company apparel.
  • Ability to work remotely up to six weeks per year.
