Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced, people-oriented manufacturing leader to oversee our Coopers Plains and Townsville sites. As a member of the Vinidex Manufacturing Leadership Team, you will help drive safety, operational performance, quality, continuous improvement, and commercial results across the Northern Region.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys shaping change, developing strong teams, improving manufacturing performance, and influencing the future direction of the business. You will also help deliver efficiency improvements, guide capital projects, and strengthen site culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct manufacturing operations across Coopers Plains and Townsville to achieve strong outcomes in safety, quality, and performance.
- Create a high-performing culture through visible leadership, coaching, and active employee engagement.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and apply Lean manufacturing practices across both locations.
- Lead change programs that lift productivity, efficiency, and overall business results.
- Oversee budgets, conversion costs, and capital investment projects to support commercial performance.
- Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Project teams to deliver strategic objectives.
- Build leadership capability and develop future leaders within the manufacturing function.
About You
You are a proactive, solutions-driven leader with a strategic outlook and the ability to balance operational excellence with strong people leadership. You build trust easily, influence stakeholders effectively, and guide teams through change with confidence.
- Tertiary study in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally within FMCG, plastics, building products, industrial, or heavy manufacturing.
- Proven background in change management and continuous improvement, with the ability to challenge established ways of working and apply best practice.
- Strong track record in safety, quality, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Commercially and technically capable, with experience managing budgets, costs, and business performance.
- Ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive sustainable operational improvements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across the business.
- Experience leading large teams and/or multi-site operations.
- Exposure to industrial relations and enterprise bargaining processes will be viewed favourably.
- Agile, accountable, curious, and eager to keep growing as the business expands.
