Role overview

An established mission-focused nonprofit in Washington, DC is seeking a part-time temporary Administrative Assistant to support executive leadership and keep daily office functions running smoothly. This is a visible, hands-on position that blends senior-level administrative support with general operations work in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate is polished, highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working across a mix of calendar coordination, office support, and communication tasks. Schedule and arrangement

This is an on-site role based in Washington, DC. The schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Fridays off, creating a four-day workweek.

Responsibilities

The position centers on executive support, office coordination, and document handling.

  • Support senior leaders with calendar management, meeting setup, and scheduling.
  • Arrange travel, process expense reporting, and coordinate executive logistics.
  • Act as a professional contact for both internal teams and outside stakeholders.
  • Help manage office operations, including supplies, mail handling, vendor follow-up, and general workspace organization.
  • Prepare documents, presentations, reports, and materials needed for meetings.
  • Keep filing systems orderly and assist with document management workflows.

Requirements

Candidates should bring prior experience supporting executive leadership, preferably in a nonprofit, mission-driven, or professional services setting. Strong proficiency with Salesforce and SharePoint is required.

  • Background supporting executive-level staff.
  • Experience in nonprofit, mission-driven, or professional services environments preferred.
  • Strong command of Salesforce and SharePoint.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with a polished, professional demeanor.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage several priorities at once.
  • High level of discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Perks and compensation
