Night Porter

Role overview

Key duties

• Handle guest arrivals and departures as needed, and help with luggage and porterage requests.
• Keep key hotel areas clean, including the lobby, back office, stairways, restaurant and bar floors, public spaces, staff areas, and meeting room floors.
• Carry out other cleaning tasks assigned by the manager on duty and follow the nightly checklist, which may involve preparing function rooms, the breakfast area, and similar spaces.
• Look after the hotel’s front entrance and exterior so they remain neat and presentable, including bin emptying and litter removal.
• Understand and follow the property’s fire procedures to help protect the safety of guests and staff.
• Assist with setting up meeting rooms.

Candidate profile

• Previous experience dealing with customers is required.
• Strong spoken English is important.
• You should be well organised and able to stay on top of tasks.
• The role suits someone who can work effectively in a busy setting.
• A collaborative attitude and willingness to support the wider team are essential.
