Role overview
Based at the Evercreech site, this night-based position is part of the Operations team and is focused on keeping the facility hygienic, safe, and ready to meet food safety and audit requirements. It is a practical, hands-on job that supports the smooth running of the production environment.
Key duties
- Carry out routine and planned cleaning across production and support areas.
- Clean equipment, machinery, and work areas according to SOPs and hygiene schedules.
- Perform intensive cleans and dismantle equipment when needed.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and in line with COSHH guidance.
- Handle cleaning tools, PPE, and equipment correctly and safely.
- Keep hygiene standards high in production spaces, offices, corridors, canteen areas, and meeting rooms.
- Support waste removal and laundry preparation and collection.
- Record cleaning activity, checks, and related documentation accurately.
- Escalate hygiene concerns, equipment faults, or maintenance issues to the Night Hygiene Supervisor.
- Help prepare the site for audits and inspections.
- Work in a way that maintains a safe, tidy, and compliant environment at all times.
Experience and skills
Prior work in hygiene, cleaning, or a manufacturing setting is preferred. You should understand food safety expectations, hygiene practices, COSHH, and the proper use of PPE. The role also calls for accuracy, organisation, reliability, and the ability to work well with others.
