Night Cleaner / Night Butler

Position Overview

We are seeking a diligent and hardworking individual to join our Night Team at Ballyfin Demesne. This full-time, permanent role involves working 40 hours weekly across 4 night shifts of 10 hours each, typically from 10pm to 8am, with schedule flexibility essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the Night Butler or Manager at shift start to receive cleaning checklists.
• Strictly control access to guest rooms, directing any unauthorized person to reception unless the visitor is the known occupant.
• Perform thorough cleaning of all public spaces including reception rooms, corridors, toilets, stairwells, staff canteen, and changing rooms to the highest standards.
• Promptly report and, where possible, act upon incidents like accidents, fire, loss, or damage, and notify required maintenance in line with procedures.
• Use provided cleaning products following manufacturer guidelines and training.
• Adhere to house policies concerning lost property consistently.

Additional Night Butler Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security patrols focusing on guest and staff safety, securing all external doors and windows, and emphasizing fire safety.
• Answer house telephone courteously, manage guest and management messages accurately and promptly.
• Serve light food and beverages to residents while maintaining accurate accounting.
• Welcome guests on arrival and departure, assisting with luggage as needed.
• Perform late-night check-ins according to hotel policies.
• Handle guest requests efficiently, such as additional pillows.
• Provide early morning refreshments to residents.
• Undertake other duties as required.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of following instructions carefully, and able to work autonomously during night hours.
