Job description

Overview

Wake Up Productions, a rapidly expanding digital media company in the UK, is seeking a Newsletter Lead to join their team on a 1-year fixed-term contract, based in London Bridge with hybrid working arrangements. Our brand portfolio includes prominent titles like Piers Morgan Uncensored, The Royals Uncensored, History Uncensored, and a growing sports franchise, collectively reaching millions weekly across YouTube, podcasts, and TV productions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft and distribute tailored newsletter updates for each brand, reflecting the distinct audience and tone of every vertical.
  • Produce subscriber-exclusive briefings offering timely, insightful summaries of recent news and behind-the-scenes content to reward loyal subscribers.
  • Collaborate closely with on-air personalities to capture their voice and commentary regarding breaking news and significant stories.
  • Ensure every newsletter edition is accurate, well-sourced, and faithful to the brand's identity.
  • Create news articles and short editorial content suited for websites, apps, and social channels, responding swiftly to breaking events.
  • Generate behind-the-scenes materials to provide subscribers with insider perspectives on show production.
  • Develop multimedia content or quickly acquire necessary skills to do so.
  • Contribute ideas for exclusive subscriber content that strengthens the connection between brands, talent, and audience.

Candidate Profile

  • Exceptional, fast, and precise writer capable of producing polished copy under tight deadlines.
  • Digitally native with awareness of current media consumption trends and audience interests.
  • Ability to adapt tone fluidly across brands: witty and energetic for Piers Morgan Uncensored, authoritative for History Uncensored, refined for The Royals Uncensored, and engaging for Sport.
  • Social media literate with understanding of platform dynamics.
  • Comfortable working with high-profile talent and engaged in talent-led media environments.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and able to manage multiple brands simultaneously while meeting brand standards and deadlines.
  • Adaptable to change and eager to contribute to the company's growth and evolving media landscape.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience authoring newsletters, subscriber publications, or news stories for respected media outlets or brands.
  • Background in digital journalism, media production, or publishing.
  • Skills or experience in creating or editing short-form video or behind-the-scenes content.
  • Familiarity with newsletter platforms such as Beehiiv or similar.
  • Understanding of YouTube, podcasting, and subscription revenue models.
  • Immediate availability or ability to start before October 2026 is advantageous.

Additional Information

  • Enjoy exposure to major talents and breaking stories within a dynamic and ambitious independent media company.
  • Work within a fast-paced, responsive team where ideas are welcomed and contributions are visible.
  • Competitive salary range will be disclosed during the initial interview stages.
  • Position located in London with options for remote or hybrid work depending on production needs.
  • Due to high application volumes, application reviews will occur daily; candidates not contacted within 10 days are considered unsuccessful.
  • We value diversity and encourage applications from all backgrounds. Accommodations are available during the recruitment process upon request.
