Job description
Role Overview
Tata Consultancy Services is looking for a Network SME at L3 level in Bengaluru. The position calls for strong hands-on expertise with Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls, along with the ability to manage complex network troubleshooting and operations.
Technical Scope
This role focuses on advanced firewall administration, issue resolution, and operational support across enterprise network environments. The incumbent should be able to handle both day-to-day support and deeper technical challenges independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and troubleshoot Palo Alto next-generation firewall features.
- Work with Palo Alto threat prevention, SSL decryption, URL filtering, and User-ID functionality.
- Manage and resolve issues related to security policies, NAT rules, and security profiles.
- Maintain a solid grasp of Palo Alto firewall architecture and packet flow.
- Configure and troubleshoot site-to-site VPN connectivity.
- Understand SonicWall firewall architecture at a working level.
- Handle firewall high availability setup and troubleshooting.
- Operate firewalls through the Panorama management platform.
- Perform PAN-OS upgrades on firewalls and Panorama.
- Support RMA replacement tasks for firewalls and Panorama appliances.
- Bring up new firewall installations from the ground up.
- Work with FortiGate SD-WAN architecture and related support tasks.
- Diagnose network problems quickly, identify root causes, and deliver fixes within SLA commitments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as run books and SOPs.
- Be available for 24x7 operations, including shift-based work and on-call support.
