About HOPPECKE Batteries and Position Overview
HOPPECKE Batteries is a globally established leader in industrial battery manufacturing and energy storage solutions with nearly a century of expertise. Founded in 1927, this privately-owned European company operates worldwide with over 2,000 employees, 12 production plants, and 22 subsidiaries across five continents. The United States branch, incorporated in 1985, is headquartered in the Mid-Atlantic region, encompassing offices, warehouse, manufacturing, testing, service, and training facilities.
Due to ambitious expansion goals in North America, HOPPECKE is hiring a National Sales Manager for Motive Power to lead growth via new business acquisition, distributor network expansion across the US and Canada, and management of key customer accounts. This leadership role will operate remotely from the Eastern US and report to the Vice President of International Business Development in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee development and management of the North American distributor network for Motive Power products.
- Source, recruit, and onboard new distributor partners throughout the US and Canada to enhance market penetration.
- Formulate and implement strategic business development plans targeting new markets and industries.
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities and major accounts across North America.
- Maintain and cultivate strong relationships with distributors, regional partners, OEMs, and key end-users.
- Lead and expand the existing Motive Power sales team and distributor network in the US through coaching and operational guidance.
- Supervise day-to-day sales and service operations, including sales pipeline reviews, forecasting, account strategies, and customer support efforts.
- Establish annual sales targets, budgets, and growth strategies tailored for the North American market.
- Track sales performance with KPIs and ensure alignment with revenue goals.
- Support sales from initial prospecting through project completion and post-sale service while engaging stakeholders consistently.
- Coordinate with European headquarters to align customer service and growth initiatives across regions.
- Represent the company at tradeshows, conferences, and industry events throughout North America.
- Adhere to and promote company values, philosophy, and policies.
- Utilize CRM tools diligently to maintain accurate records of interactions, opportunities, forecasts, and sales activities.
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitive behavior, and industry developments to adapt strategies accordingly.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or an equivalent professional background.
- A minimum of five years in sales management, business development, key account, or channel management within industrial sectors.
- Proven success in building and managing distributor networks across North America.
- Demonstrated track record in acquiring new business with a strong hunter mindset.
- Experience leading geographically distributed sales teams with coaching and performance management.
- Knowledge of industrial batteries, energy storage, motive power, intralogistics, or related fields is highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial insight including sales forecasting, pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and channel sales management.
- Capacity to understand industrial energy products, their applications, and client needs.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and persuasive demeanor.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Highly motivated, proactive, results-driven, and hands-on approach to work.
- Organized and process-oriented with expertise in planning, CRM usage, and forecasting discipline.
- Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with local and international teams.
- Willingness and capability to travel extensively across the US and Canada.

This role is full-time and remote, preferably based in the Eastern US region. The position entails significant leadership and expansion responsibilities for the North American Motive Power sales division of HOPPECKE Batteries. The candidate will play an essential role in the company’s long-term strategic growth across the continent.
